Elizabeth "Lisa" Killion

Founder and CEO

 Lisa Killion is the visionary founder and CEO of Ember Media, an innovative healthcare marketing agency dedicated to transforming the industry through the power of storytelling and digital innovation.  With a passion for driving meaningful change and a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape, Lisa has led Ember Media from its inception to become a trusted partner for healthcare organizations seeking to elevate their brand and connection with their audience in impactful ways. 


With 28+ years of experience in marketing and healthcare, Lisa brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Ember Media.  Prior to founding the agency, Lisa held key leadership roles in healthcare marketing, where she developed a keen understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities facing healthcare organizations today.


Lisa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications with an emphasis in Journalism and Public Relations from Texas State University and a minor in Spanish.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from Texas A&M University, School of Rural Public Health.  Her early work started with the Texas Council on Family Violence working with the Center for Battered Women fundraising and awareness campaigns in Austin, Texas.  She also worked with the Texas Young Woman of the Year Statewide Scholarship Program in New Braunfels, Texas.  Lisa was the Public Information Officer for Tropical Texas Center for MHMR (5th largest community mental health center in Texas) and spent most of her rewarding career working at South Texas Health System as the Assistant Administrator of Marketing and Public Relations for 24 years. 


Her philanthropic work extended to various non-profit entities via membership or board positions.

Lisa was awarded numerous grants for pediatric care foundation projects and has successfully coordinated signature community events, ground breaking and grand openings of South Texas Health System hospitals and six free standing emergency rooms. 


Lisa was also appointed to the Texas Hospital Association Editorial Board, Texas Hospital Association Strategic Communications Constituency Council and the Ad Hoc State Annual Conference for THA.  Lisa also holds a FEMA certification in Hospital Incident Command System and National Incident Management Systems. 


Outside of her professional endeavor, Lisa interests center around ranch living, fishing, cooking, traveling, gardening, reading and curating watercolor artwork.  She is happily married to Mitch and is proud mom to three beautiful children, Matthew, Luke and Taylor.
